Introducing SouthsideCentral.com – The next level!

Due to popular demand from our readers, we’ve grown faster than we’ve ever dreamed. We never thought we’d have so many visitors in such of a short time. HalifaxCentral was the original name that we came up with a very long time ago. It was fitting then and it’s still fitting now. That being said, it’s time to take this concept to the next level. Although Halifax is still an important part of the area, we’re looking for more. We believe that Southside Virginia is a region which is forgotten by most of the media.

Not any more. We’re proud to present SouthsideCentral.com, the new portal for All Things Southside (and more!). The main part of SouthsideCentral will be the same as the main part of HalifaxCentral… the Blog. The SouthsideCentral Blog will keep up the tradition of the HCBlog. We’ll feature local, regional, state and national news stories. We’ll put a lot of focus on the Southside VA and surrounding area. You’ll see all of our popular features like OpinionCentrals, PhotoCentrals, and most importantly LIVE!Centrals.

We couldn’t have done any of this without you, the readers. We want your comments. We want your ideas. We want you to stop by as often as you can everyday and see what’s going on in the Southside VA area. So, let’s make this thing happen.

Oh yeah… HalifaxCentral isn’t going away. All of our emails remain the same. We’ll even have new content here at HalifaxCentral often… all we ask is that you bookmark the SCBlog as well. Thanks for everything, folks. The future’s so bright, we’ve gotta wear shades!

Slight technical problems during the launch of SouthsideCentral…

We lost a few postings from today when attempting to back up the database.

Here’s what accidentally disappeared (and a summary).

South Boston woman killed in 360 wreck on Saturday – 91 year old Violet Kates killed in Rt. 360 wreck
PhotoCentral: Sunset on the Bridge – Danville photo (will be reposted on SC soon)
Instant Bargain for today! – 99 cent computer game
Skateboarding accident kills VT student – 2nd skateboard death of a VT student this year
Lynchburg? Undiscovered? Funky? – All about Downtown Lynchburg (will be revisited in a new SC posting)
Who can wipe the smile right off of your face? – You can’t smile for your driver’s license photo anymore
The lack of three little words made a big difference. – Indictment technicality causes charges to be dropped.

The transition wasn’t perfect, but we can live with that. See you at the SouthsideCentral Blog!
